Implants

The "latest thing" in dentistry of course is Implants. The picture to the right shows a pre fabricated welded implant substructure. This implant design was the first of it's kind made in Australia. LASERTEK welded the prefabricated parts together to form the implant substructure.

The parts were supplied by Southern Implants and welded together in our laboratory.

LASERTEK will weld your structures together to your exact specifications. We can weld Titanium , Gold or other alloys.

The fit of laser welded implant substructures is second to none. Please do not hesitate to contact us about your special requirements regarding laser welding for implant cases. We are familiar with all the leading brands of components and can also help with the design of custom work.

This example used high gold alloy and was welded in four places. The fit remains completely passive and the strength of the joins are far superior to soldering.
Advantages of Laser Welding for Implants
  • No Solder used. More Hygenic, less toxicity.
  • Homogeneous structure with high mechanical strength.
  • Weld is with the parent metal without the introduction of additional metals or alloys thereby eliminating any galvanic effect.
  • Welding is done with little or no heat transfer providing consistent advantages and increasing the versatility of the technology.
  • Small heat affected area eliminates the risk of warping and the weld can be safely positioned.
  • Accuracy of fit is significantly higher than with conventional soldering techniques.
  • Titanium can be laser welded in an argon gas environment providing the ability for more efficient frame repairs incorporating Titanium and its alloys .
  • Laser beam micro-adjusts in width and power output enabling us to weld finer parts and attachments without risk.
  • A laser welded frame will not warp under the influence of heat and is less likely to fracture.
  • More precise fit likely when laser welding.
